groove foundation Casey Mallon, Bass and vocals H. Beanie Butler, Guitar and vocals Chris K., Drums Groove Foundation is a Los Angeles based power trio, consisting of Casey Mallon, bass and lead vocals, Beanie Butler, guitar and vocals and Chris K. on drums. The bands fusion of diversity and unity contrast the members unique musical influences with a distinct direction. It all combines to create a heavy yet flowing sound of soft and melodic twists and high-energy rock and roll. "We can only hope our expressionist musical mix sets the precedence and direction for rock into the next century," explains Casey. Groove Foundation is currently on a west coast tour to promote their single "Dont Wanna Talk About It", featured on the current Rock City Records CD release "Heavy Millennium". Groove Foundations powerful sound is the synthesis of its members eclectic musical backgrounds. Casey, who claims KISS, Motley Crue and Prince as early influences, first met Beanie at LAs infamous Musicians Institute. After combining their talents for writing penetrating lyrics with a hardcore groove, they soon added veteran LA drummer Chris K. whose traditional jazz background added yet another layer to the mix. Following the success of two critically acclaimed demos the band has recently recorded their first full length CD "Leaving Home" on 1st Stone Records. This dynamic CD captures the rebirth of the big guitar sound with twelve songs recorded live in single takes. "We think music shines best when its spontaneous," explains Casey, the bands lead singer. "We like the intensity the unknown brings out so we never have a set list when we play out and we leave a lot of space for improvisation and in the recording sessions we basically plugged in and jammed."
